The Federal Aviation Administration
looks to Sensor Technologies for support on key Systems.
Sensor Technologies is presently
providing engineering and technical support to Dimensions International
and the Federal Aviation Administrations in Atlantic City New Jersey.
Our primary work is in support of the Weather Messaging Control
Reporting (WMSCR) System, which is a highly mission critical system
that receives and processes real-time weather data from multiple
sources. WMSCR, which utilizes the expertise of National Weather
Service meteorologists, receives information that is critical in
the identification of weather conditions and hazards that may adversely
impact air traffic controllers and aircraft operations within an
airspace of interest.
Air Traffic
Control System Command Center
The WMSCR system supports the
contiguous United States and Alaska via the Air Traffic Control
System Command Center and provides en-route air traffic controllers
and traffic management personnel with access to the highly accurate Doppler Weather Radar data. Such capability has
resulted in its success and its serving as the primary source of
real-time tactical and strategic weather data for air traffic controllers,
traffic management coordinators (TMC), supervisory TMCs, area supervisors,
meteorologists, and pilots. In addition to the processing radar
information, WMSCR recieves minute by minute releases of meteorological
observation, warning, forecasts, lightning strikes, satellite, and
oceanographic information.
Sensor Technologies remains
committed to providing its subject matter expertise to WMSCR and
ensuring the program exceeds its operational availability requirements.
Furthermore, Sensor Technologies will remain a vital part of the
program's enhancements and upgrades as FAA requirements continue
to evolve.
